Wild About Science: The AI Prophets' Dream Worlds

Wild About Science: The AI Prophets' Dream Worlds: Wednesday 21 October 2026, 19:30–21:00, BIBLIOTEKET Rentemestervej, Copenhagen. Admission is free.

What do tech billionaires actually imagine the future should be used for? Professor Anders Søgaard, who researches machine learning and artificial intelligence while also writing fiction, poses this question. He calls himself a double agent between tech and humanism.

His 2025 book "Packing List for the Future" forms the basis for this event, where the conversation circles around the utopias and dystopias that shape the AI debate: are we heading toward fully automated luxury communism, or does development point in a darker direction? Søgaard also offers his take on which books are worth reading if you want to understand what is at stake.

The event is part of Copenhagen Public Libraries' festival Wild About Science, which runs through October and November with programming for adults at libraries across the city. It takes place in the Hall on the 3rd floor.
