The Geopolitical Situation

The world looks different than it did just a few years ago: war on European soil, a USA turning inward, and the centre of global power shifting eastward. Mirco Reimer-Elster, who works with geopolitics at the intersection of technology, power, and history, puts words to these shifts.

The lecture examines Denmark's most important allies and what it means for Denmark when the old world order crumbles and permanent crises become everyday reality. Reimer-Elster looks at the relationship between the USA and Europe - a relationship he describes as an arranged marriage - and at Europe's growing lag in the technological race.
