Songhoy Blues ML + Ba Balance DK/GM · Alice, Copenhagen

Songhoy Blues takes the stage at Alice in Copenhagen on Saturday, 31 October 2026. The band brings desert blues from Mali to Nørrebro, where Alice has served as a regional venue since 2018, hosting music rarely heard elsewhere. This is one of only two Danish concert dates for the group. Songhoy Blues' shimmering guitar work and solidarity as a musical heartbeat create a distinctive presence, and Alice on Nørre Allé provides the setting for this encounter with music from northern Mali.

About the venue: Alice

ALICE is a regional music venue in Nørrebro, formed in 2018 from the merger of the former venues Global and Jazzhouse. Named after American jazz pianist and composer Alice Coltrane, it focuses on music that rarely finds space on Danish stages - from global roots, folk and jazz/improv to sound art, new composed music, metal and electronic experiments. The venue also stages concerts at external locations such as Marmorkirken and Glyptoteket.

About: Songhoy Blues

Born out of displacement - four musicians escaping a jihadist ban on music in Timbuktu - Songhoy Blues have built a career bridging Songhai tradition with electric blues and rock. Four albums in, with collaborations alongside Damon Albarn and Iggy Pop and a performance at the UN Climate Action Summit, they carry far more weight than the world music label suggests.
