Workshop: Can the Brain Be Influenced Through the Ear?
Hovedbiblioteket, Aarhus · Free
The vagus nerve connects the brain to the heart, lungs, and stomach - but can stimulating the nerve also influence the brain? This hands-on workshop explores that question.
Starting from a short popular-science article about neuroscientist Anne Landau's research on the vagus nerve, participants join Dokk1's science communicator Matilda Tjellden on a journey through the research, wonder about the findings, and ask questions about what we still don't know. Along the way, you can also build a model of the vagus nerve and gain a better understanding of how the brain and body are connected.
The workshop takes place in the Udsigten room. There is also a workshop on Friday 25/9 from 9:00-12:00, and on Saturday and Sunday it is possible to draw on and around the model on your own.
