Autumn nature walk with color hunt: Friday 16 October 2026, 10:00–14:00, Naturcenter Sønderborg, Sønderborg.

During the autumn holiday, we head out into nature to collect leaves, berries, and plants that can be used to dye fabric with natural dyes. Along the way, participants learn about traditional crafts and dye fabric themselves using the materials we find.

Bring practical clothing and a packed lunch if you like. We meet at Naturcenter Sønderborg, Skydebanevej 1, 6400 Sønderborg.

About the venue: Naturcenter Sønderborg

Sønderborg Naturcenter is based at Frydendal, a farmstead from 1794 set within the 134-hectare Kær Vestermark nature area just north of Sønderborg. The buildings, formerly part of the Army Sergeant School's training grounds, were renovated using recycled materials and opened as a nature centre in May 2022. The municipality's nature guides run tours on biodiversity, wild food and pond life from here, and there is an equipment lending bank for schools and private visitors. The surrounding area has walking and cycling trails, shelters, bird hides and the covered barbecue hut known as Støvlen.
