WORKSHARING: THIS IS (NOT) THE END

Dancers Elvan Tekin and Samuel Francis Pereira present a work-in-progress sharing of THIS IS (NOT) THE END - an investigation into the connections between body, land, language, and power. The worksharing concludes their IN PROCESS residency at HAUT; the full premiere takes place in November 2026 at Sophiensæle in Berlin.

The research draws on Gayatri Spivak's concept of EPISTEMIC VIOLENCE and questions which bodies and movements are recognized and valued - and by whom. The duet sets SOCIAL DANCES from LEVANTINE TRADITIONS against Western, codified forms such as the waltz, and in their encounter tensions and dialogues emerge that challenge hierarchies between "high art" and folk practice. Dance is treated here as CULTURAL MEMORY, still shaped by power relations.

The worksharing begins at 15:00. At 16:00 there is a short break, after which the audience is invited to give feedback on the process.
