An Evening with Dolly Parton: Sing-Along and Lecture

An Evening with Dolly Parton - Sing-Along and Lecture: Thursday 19 November 2026, 19:00–21:00, Rockmuseet, Roskilde. Tickets cost 125 kr.

Rockmuseet invites you to an evening celebrating Dolly Parton's music and life: first a sing-along, then a lecture. The evening opens with a collective journey through her catalogue - from Jolene and 9 to 5 to I Will Always Love You and many more.

Once the singing winds down, author, poet and music critic Klaus Lynggaard takes the stage. Drawing on Parton's upbringing in Tennessee, her rise to the top of country music, and the music and business empire she built along the way, he paints a portrait of the woman behind the music: what she has meant to generations of women, and how she has used her position to create space for others.

The ticket includes access to the museum's exhibitions from 17:30-19:00. The café is open all evening with drinks and snacks for sale. Companions with companion passes attend free. Wheelchair users and guests with a companion are encouraged to contact Rockmuseet before their visit to ensure the best conditions.
