Jazzerne from Horsens

Behind the name Jazzerne are six musicians who first met at a church concert at Hvirring Church near Horsens on June 15, 2015 - and have stayed together ever since. The band is rooted in the Horsens area, though a couple of members now live in Aarhus.

The lineup includes Taus Houmøller (trumpet, flugelhorn, vocals), Michael "Forbudt for børn" Vestergaard (Eb tuba), Kenny Normann Jensen (clarinet, tenor saxophone, vocals), Benny "Won't you please come home" Bay Nielsen (trombone, vocals), Jens Henrik Eriksen (banjo), and Imrich Cisar (drums). Several of them have previously played in the show orchestra Jazznødderne.

The repertoire draws on jazz classics such as When The Saints and Down By The Riverside, supplemented with pieces the orchestra has discovered along the way - including The Chant, Ægyptisk Fantasi, and Sur Le Pont.

A light lunch at 12:00 is included in the ticket price, before the music begins.
