Sleep Researcher Birgitte Rahbek Kornum lecture: Wednesday 25 November 2026, 19:00–20:15, Copenhagen. Admission is free.
Sleep researcher Birgitte Rahbek Kornum gives a lecture on what sleep actually is, why we sleep, and how sleep affects health, memory, mood, appetite and performance. Drawing on the latest research, she offers practical advice for anyone who wants to sleep better.
Sleep is a challenge for many - Danish surveys show that up to half of respondents experience sleep problems. Birgitte provides concrete tips on how to achieve better sleep quality and worry less about nighttime sleep.
Birgitte Rahbek Kornum has researched sleep for nearly two decades and today leads a research group at the Institute of Neuroscience at the University of Copenhagen. She has previously worked at Stanford University in California and at Rigshospitalet, and is behind several books on sleep, including "Do You Sleep? How to Get Better Sleep at Night".
Attendance is free, and free tickets are available on Billetto. The lecture takes place in the event room on the 2nd floor and is part of Copenhagen Public Libraries' festival "Wild About Science", which runs at libraries in Copenhagen Municipality in October-November with non-fiction and scientific lectures for adults. All events in the festival can be found under "Wild About Science" on Copenhagen Public Libraries' website.
