'Bipolar Confessions' Book Launch · Zoku Copenhagen, Copenhagen

'Bipolar Confessions' Book Launch with Nadia Friis: Monday 19 October 2026, 17:00–18:30, Zoku Copenhagen, Copenhagen. Admission is free.

"I can best describe mania as being incredibly drunk. Not on alcohol, but on my own brain. I'm high, invincible and euphoric. It's like dancing on a table in a dark room, convinced I'm the centre of the party, while everyone else sees me as someone losing their balance." This is how Nadia Friis describes mania in her book Bipolar Confessions, released on 19 October 2026.

The book explores finding peace in a life that swings between heaven and hell, and what happens when the most stable thing in the world becomes what you long for most. Through real experiences - postpartum mania, reckless driving, pill and alcohol abuse, impulsive actions, hospitalizations, identity crises and the struggle to hold relationships together - it offers an honest and moving insight into living with bipolar disorder, without dry theory.

Nadia visits MitLivMed to launch the book, share her story and answer questions. The programme: 17:00-17:15 arrival, 17:15-17:20 welcome from MitLivMed, 17:20-17:45 Nadia Friis talks about Bipolar Confessions, 17:45-18:15 Q&A (also for those joining online), and 18:15-18:30 networking, book launch and signing.

Nadia Friis is an anthropologist specializing in life narratives and everyday human experience. In Bipolar Confessions, she turns her method inward, telling what it's like to live with bipolar disorder from the inside. She wants to offer an honest insight into the complexity of the condition and help break the taboo around mental illness.

The event is free and takes place at Zoku in Copenhagen. Everyone is welcome, whether you live with bipolar disorder yourself, are a family member or work professionally with it - for example as a nurse or educator. If you can't attend in person, the entire event is livestreamed and you can ask questions in the Q&A online. Nadia will sign and sell books after the talk.

On Billetto you can make your profile anonymous so your name doesn't appear on the list of attendees - we respect that.
