Free entry

Rasmus Dahlberg: Is Denmark Crisis-Ready: Wednesday 14 October 2026, 19:15–20:15, Hovedbiblioteket, Aarhus. Admission is free.

Ministers and authorities repeatedly warn that severe weather, technological failures, and hybrid threats can strike Danish society, even though we are accustomed to things working safely. Water supply, power grids, and sewage systems can fail, and during such periods it may become harder to shop or communicate with each other. This lecture examines how well prepared we actually are - both as a society and as individuals - and what we can do to be better equipped for future crises.

Rasmus Dahlberg is a historian, author, researcher, and lecturer specializing in war, crises, and disasters. He is a lecturer in societal security at Roskilde University and a member of the Expert Panel for Emergency Preparedness under the Ministry for Societal Security and Emergency Preparedness. He is also the gamemaster in the DR1 programme "Crisis Exercise: Hybrid Attack on Denmark", where crisis preparedness is tested to the limit.

The event is free, but book a free ticket via the link if you want to secure a seat. The lecture is part of the theme day "Together on Preparedness", which the library arranges in collaboration with DR, the Danish Folk Education Council, and Østifterne. Throughout the day the library hosts lectures, activities, and discussions on preparedness. Some activities require a free ticket - the full programme is published on aakb.dk and on Facebook.
