CSFF | Talk: From Script to Scream
Union, Copenhagen · Free
From Script to Scream - masterclass: Saturday 7 November 2026, 13:00–14:00, Union, Copenhagen. Admission is free.
How do script, sound, lighting, production design, practical effects, casting, and acting work together to create suspense, unease, and unforgettable scenes? This masterclass explores the craft behind horror filmmaking. Through conversation and practical examples, screenwriter Sissel Dalsgaard Thomsen, director Michael Panduro, and author and horror enthusiast Dennis Jacob Rosenfeld discuss the creative choices and collaborative processes that transform an idea on paper into a chilling film experience.
Sissel Dalsgaard Thomsen graduated from Super16's screenwriting programme in 2014. Since then, she has written numerous short and feature films shown at festivals including Fantastic Fest, Sitges, Rotterdam, Toronto, San Sebastián, and Berlinale. She has been nominated for the Robert Prize twice and won the award for best screenplay in 2025. She has five feature films in production, including two horror films, and has previously worked with the genre in the feature film Breeder and the short films Skuld and Vokseværk, where psychological horror and bodily transformation play a central role.
Michael Panduro is a filmmaker and screenwriter, educated in film studies from the University of Copenhagen and an alumnus of Berlinale Talents and Kyoto Filmmaker's Lab. After nearly a decade of award-winning music videos and commercials, he has established himself as one of Denmark's most distinctive voices in horror and genre film. His short film The Sunken Convent has been shown at more than 60 festivals, including Clermont-Ferrand, Screamfest, and Brussels Fantastic Film Festival, and has won several awards. He later expanded his work with the darker sides of H.C. Andersen in the feature film anthology Adorable Humans. His films combine physical body horror, surreal imagery, and emotionally grounded narratives. He has also worked as a programmer for CPH PIX, VOID Animation Festival, and Blodig Weekend Horror Festival.
Dennis Jacob Rosenfeld is an author, translator, editor, and cultural critic based in Copenhagen.
