Visit by Director Kaspar Astrup Schröder

Self-taught and award-winning documentary filmmaker Kaspar Astrup Schröder presents clips from his Japanese films, followed by questions and discussion with the audience. The films offer glimpses into aspects of everyday Japanese life that few outsiders ever witness.

His latest work, "Ensom i Tokyo" (Lonely in Tokyo), focuses on isolation as a social phenomenon. In Japan, the problem has grown to such an extent that the government has appointed a special minister for loneliness.

Two earlier films, "Lej en familie A/S" (Rent a Family Inc., 2012) and "Opfindelsen af Dr. Nakamats" (The Invention of Dr. Nakamats, 2009), are freely available on Filmstriben. "Ensom i Tokyo" can be watched on DR.
