Welcome to Valhalla

Welcome to Valhalla with Kenneth Bøgh Andersen: Saturday 7 November 2026, 13:00–14:30, Roskilde Bibliotek, Roskilde. Tickets cost 25 kr.

Author Kenneth Bøgh Andersen and illustrator Peter Madsen discuss the Valhalla universe: from Peter's classic comic series about Thor, Loki and the other Norse gods to Kenneth's new novel about Tjalfe and Røskva's adventures in Asgard.

The two creators talk about building a vast universe around Norse mythology and the process of adapting a comic series into a novel.

The event is for adults and children from 12 years old, and you don't need to have read the comic series beforehand to get something out of it.

Kenneth Bøgh Andersen has sent readers to Hell, killed Father Christmas and given classic horror stories new life in his books - most recently with "Dracula". Throughout his work runs a fascination with human nature's complexity, blending folklore, philosophy and modern themes into his stories.

Peter Madsen is one of Denmark's most renowned living cartoonists. Since his debut in 1979, the "Valhalla" album series has introduced many children and adults to Norse mythology, and his distinctive drawing style is unmistakable.

The event takes place in the Hall at Roskilde Library, where you sit on chairs without armrests and listen to a reading and discussion about Valhalla. Read more about access conditions on Roskilde Library's website.
