What do we need to know when the world becomes uncertain?

Most people know the official prepping list: water, batteries, and canned food. But what does it require of us culturally and humanly if everyday life begins to crack? Culture's Prepping Dinner explores this question through a shared long table. Perhaps preparedness is as much about being able to do things together - knowing your neighbours, being able to tell a story or sing a song from memory, bringing people together and creating meaning and community when familiar structures shift.

The dinner lasts two hours, with a special prepping menu served for both stomach and conversation. Throughout, the conversation is facilitated through questions and small techniques that draw on participants' different experiences, perspectives, and ideas. You don't need to know anything about preparedness beforehand, and there are no right answers - it's about contributing your own voice and your own ideas about what culture and community can do when the world becomes uncertain.

The only requirement is a willingness to listen, think aloud, eat a little, and actively participate in the conversation. The conversation will be documented in photos and sound.

Culture's Prepping Dinner is developed by NXT in collaboration with Culture's Institute of Analysis, Together on Preparedness, Østifterne, and DR.
