Holiday Fun at Fjordcentret: Wednesday 14 October 2026, 10:00–16:00, Kyst- og Fjordcentret, Ørsted. Tickets cost 75–110 kr.

During the autumn break, Fjordcentret is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in week 42, with a new theme each day. The whole family can wade, shoot water rockets, enjoy a bonfire, explore the exhibition and climb the viewing platform overlooking Randers Fjord.

Tuesday is all about speed on the fjord. You can board the RIB boat and sail north, and north of Kanalø there's a chance to really feel the speed. Those wanting an extra challenge can try watercast, where you lie on a pontoon behind the boat and risk tumbling into the water - it starts gently and gradually increases speed, and you can go in the water up to four times. Boats depart at 11:00, 12:30 and 14:00, each trip lasts around an hour and a half, with space for a maximum of 10 passengers at a time. A RIB ticket costs 200 kr., while a watercast trip costs 250 kr. Tickets can be bought online or on site if spaces are available.

Wednesday features bow-building: build your own bow and test it afterwards, or borrow one of the centre's bows and try archery. The bonfire will naturally be lit this day too.

Thursday brings crabs and fish from the outdoor touch pool, so you can get up close with the animals before the fish are carefully returned to the fjord - and the crabs end up in a soup. Indoors there are activities in both the exhibition and the nature workshop, with lit wood-fired ovens, kite-making and felting.
