Finn Methling's "The Journey to the Green Shadows" is performed in the schoolroom at Det lille Teater. In a monologue, a woman tells the story of an entire life - from before her birth, through childhood and youth to adulthood, motherhood, and finally her role as a grandmother. The seasons form a living backdrop for the narrative, which follows her perspective on the body, love, motherhood, and death.

This is an intimate performance where you sit close and follow one person from beginning to end. The play is considered the most unusual in Finn Methling's body of work. Dorte Nielsen plays the woman, and Ruth Gaul Nilum directs. The production was first performed in 2024 and is now shown again over two evenings in October: Monday, October 19 at 7:30 p.m. (premiere) and Wednesday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m.

The performance takes place in the schoolroom at Det lille Teater, Ladegårdskov 14, 6300 Gråsten, and lasts approximately 50 minutes without intermission. You sit at café tables with the option to buy coffee, beer, and wine before the performance. Doors open 30 minutes before start, seats are unnumbered, and there are only 30 seats per performance - tickets should therefore be purchased in advance.

Det lille Teater is an amateur theatre association in Gråsten, where volunteers perform, direct, and build the sets themselves.
