AI and Art - Human Creativity in a Technological Turning Point · Kulturkasernen, Holbæk

AI and Art - Human Creativity: 5 November – 19 November 2026, Kulturkasernen, Holbæk. Tickets cost 125–150 kr.

The artist group Corona celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026 with an autumn exhibition at Kulturkasernen in Holbæk. The jubilee is an opportunity to look back at the development of art over the past 50 years, but also to explore the possibilities and challenges artists face today. Working methods, materials, and conditions have changed significantly since the group's founding, and in particular the rapid development of artificial intelligence raises new questions: What does AI mean for art and the artist's role? What opportunities does the technology offer - and what still characterizes human-created art?

Through the project "AI and Art - Human Creativity in a Technological Turning Point", Corona in collaboration with Holbæk Kunstforening at Æglageret will create a local forum for education, reflection, debate, and practical artistic work. The project includes a public lecture and five subsequent workshops.

Artificial intelligence already affects many fields and creative processes. AI can quickly generate images, texts, and visual expressions from vast amounts of data, creating both fascination, curiosity, and uncertainty among artists, art enthusiasts, and citizens in general. Many of those who create, present, buy, or experience art seek a better understanding of the technology's significance. The debate is not only about what AI can technically produce, but also about more fundamental questions of creativity, originality, artistic quality, and human experience.

The project aims to make this debate present and accessible to residents of Holbæk and the surrounding area. Through a combination of an expert, debate-generating lecture and a series of practical workshops, participants can both engage intellectually with the topic and experience firsthand the significance of handwork, the properties of materials, and the intuitive artistic process.
