Copenhagen's Hidden Nature - Sydhavnstippen · Naturvejlederhuset på Sydhavnstippen, Copenhagen
Description was written before the event

In the heart of Copenhagen lies a wild nature reserve that few locals know about. You don't need a car or a long journey - just take the metro to Sluseholmen and you're almost there.

The site has a surprising history: Sydhavnstippen was once a landfill, built from construction waste and surplus soil. For over 50 years, nature has been allowed to develop on its own, and today the area is home to birds, insects, and plants. To help care for the nature, the site has even hired some special staff: sheep, goats, and alpacas.

The tour covers approximately 2 km around the tip. Along the way, you'll learn how the animals work as nature managers and why it matters, and you'll search for edible plants. There's also nature bingo, where the goal is to get a full card first - and perhaps a surprise or two awaits.

Bring a snack for the midway break, and wear good shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
