Author Visit with Deniz Kiy: Wednesday 11 November 2026, 19:00–20:00, Brønshøj Bibliotek, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 25 kr.
Deniz Kiy discusses his latest novel, Blokkene, and shares how personal and societal stories become literature.
Blokkene is set in an unnamed residential area in Denmark and follows seven residents in apartment blocks that are both home and battleground. Each struggles with life's challenges - within their families and in encounters with a system threatening to undermine their foundations. The novel is a collective narrative about the worlds between us: magical social realism about power and resistance, homeless grief and boundless love.
Deniz Kiy was born in Randers and grew up in Odense with parents who emigrated from Turkey. He graduated from the Writers' School in 2019 and debuted in 2021 with the poetry collection Blå øje, subtitled Türkü, for which he received the Poetry Prize.
The event is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation and takes place in the meeting room on the 1st floor.
