Pottery Wheel Throwing Course with Marianne Krumbach

Pottery wheel throwing with Marianne Krumbach: Monday 23 November 2026, 17:00–21:00, Vesterbro Bibliotek og Kulturhus, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 3200 kr.

This course is designed for beginners who have never tried wheel throwing before, as well as for those who need more practice with the fundamentals. You will start with centering, pulling up to a cylinder, and throwing simple forms. Along the way, you will learn trimming, attaching handles, and glazing. You will also receive an introduction to different stoneware clays suitable for throwing and the tools used in the process. Each session ends with thorough cleanup and cleaning.

Instructor Marianne Krumbach is a graduate of the Design School in Kolding and currently works from her studio in Copenhagen NW. In recent years, she has primarily worked with modeled, nature-inspired sculptural objects, but also periodically with thrown projects. She has exhibited both domestically and abroad - see more at www.mariannekrumbach.dk and instagram.com/mariannekrumbach.

The ceramic workshops at Vesterbro Library and Cultural Centre are kept clean and hygienic through shared responsibility. The course fee covers instruction and materials, and participants are expected to participate in cleanup and cleaning on equal terms with other users of the facility.
