CACAO FROM PERU - From Bean to Story · Kvarterhuset, Copenhagen

Cacao from Peru - family workshop: Sunday 15 November 2026, 11:00–13:00, Kvarterhuset, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 50 kr.

SECRETS OF THE RAINFOREST: What do cacao from the rainforest smell and taste like, and what story lies hidden behind it? Kvarterhuset and Sundby Library invite you to a sensory and family-friendly cacao day, where we travel with our senses to the Peruvian Amazon and follow cacao's journey from bean to story.

We smell and work with raw cacao beans from the forest, taste and feel them, and make and drink our own hot cacao. Along the way, we listen to stories about the Amazon and the people and cultures who live there - including a reading arranged by the library, which makes the story a living part of the journey. Cacao becomes an opportunity to open our senses and be present around a raw material that carries history, culture, and connection to nature.

The experience includes: cacao from Peru and the bean's journey from forest to chocolate 🌿 readings and stories about the Amazon rainforest 🌿 hot cacao and a cosy time together. It is a shared, sensory experience for the whole family, young and old.

Location: Kvarterhuset, Amagerbro / Copenhagen S. Date: Sunday, 15 November, 11:00-13:00 (2 hours). Facilitator: Maria Tauber Wiese. Price: 50 kr. per person. Max. 20 participants. Children welcome with an adult.
