International Men's Day - talks and live music: Thursday 19 November 2026, 17:00–19:00, Johan Borups Højskole, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 75 kr.
What does it mean to be a man right now? On November 19, International Men's Day is marked with an evening featuring talks, knowledge, personal stories, stand-up, music and a Thursday bar. Old ideas about male life are shifting - about work and ambitions, fatherhood and care, the body and appearance, strength and vulnerability, and about who you need to be to be a man "the right way".
KVINFO and Dansk Mandesamfund don't use the evening to list what's wrong with men. Instead, they look more closely at what happens when there are more ways to be a man: What is worth holding onto, what can you let go of, and what can take its place?
The evening is moderated by Adrian Busk with contributions from, among others, Kåre Quist, Abdel Aziz Mahmoud, Victor Boy Lindholm, Niels Ulrik Drescher, Mads Krause Hulbæk and Philip Rosenbaum. Morten Wichmann performs stand-up, while Hængemulen plays their blend of quirky humour, melancholy and Danish-language songwriting. The programme concludes with a keynote speech looking ahead at what stories about men are needed now.
The school's courtyard opens from 4 p.m., where beer, water and Mexican street food from La Chica Mala are sold. The programme itself runs until 7 p.m. with a break in between, and afterwards there is an opportunity to stay and eat, have a beer and continue the conversation.
