Autumn Holiday - Theatre De Røde Heste: The Clown Who Wasn't Very Funny
Eskebjerg Bibliotek, Føllenslev
Clown Dummy is not very funny, and hardly anyone laughs at his acts. Yet something remarkable happens each time he enters the ring: the audience becomes thoughtful and begins to reflect on important things. Some remember someone they miss, others think of something they want to say or share with others. But not many laugh.
"No! No! No! It has to be funnier," shouts the circus director, threatening to fire him. Lion Leo tries to spice up Dummy's act, making him stumble and fall - and now some people actually laugh, though not many or very loudly. Dummy gets fired, but to the circus director's great surprise, the audience reacts loudly in protest. What is a circus without a clown?
With humor, the performance follows Dummy's touching attempts to get the laughter meter to the top - and poses the question of whether success can be measured in anything other than laughter, even when you are a clown.
From age 6.
