Unbound - Tereza Bettinardi: Wednesday 4 November 2026, 16:30–20:30, Danmarks Medie- og Journalisthøjskole DMJX, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 75–500 kr.

Unbound's next guest has travelled all the way from Brazil to Copenhagen. Tereza Bettinardi is a designer, editor and publisher whose versatile and colourful work with typography, editorial design and graphics takes centre stage when she gives a talk and workshop at DMJX. Her peers voted her onto Creative Boom's list of the 20 best creatives in 2026.

The talk (16:30-17:30) explores what actually defines book design: is it the typography, the images, the format and materials - or the relationship between them that the designer and reader create together? With 20 years of experience as an editorial designer, Tereza Bettinardi views design as a relational process, shaped by collaboration, material conditions and circulation. These same questions underpin Clube do Livro do Design, a reading club she founded in 2020 that later evolved into an independent publisher releasing critical design literature in Portuguese. In the talk, she draws connections between her design practice and her experiences with Clube do Livro, exploring how design and publishing can create a shared language and strengthen the communities that gather around books.

The workshop (17:30-20:30) has 20 places for design professionals and students who want to develop the talk's ideas further. It is a fast-paced, practical session inspired by Corita Kent's teaching method, where observation exercises and creative practice teach participants to notice what is normally overlooked and see everyday life with fresh eyes.
