16mm film workshop · Union, Copenhagen
Description was written before the event

This is the first workshop from the newly established Parallax Lab, which operates in both Copenhagen and Malmö.

Day 1 focuses on filming with a Bolex camera and takes place on October 10 from 11:00 to 17:00 at Union, Nørre Allé 7, 2200 Copenhagen N. Participants explore the possibilities of the Bolex 16mm camera and experiment with techniques such as double exposure, fading in and out, speed changes (slow and fast motion), and flicker effects. A camera is provided, but you can also bring your own Bolex, and filming is done on black-and-white negative film.

Day 2 takes place in Malmö on October 11 from 11:00 to 17:00, where participants develop the previous day's film in a small darkroom using simple black-and-white techniques. The films are then screened. The address is Bragegatan 4b, 214 29 Malmö.

There is space for a maximum of 10 participants. Member price is 480 DKK / 710 SEK for both days or 260 DKK / 390 SEK for one day, while non-members pay 625 DKK / 925 SEK for both days. The price covers film and chemicals, but transport across the bridge is at your own expense.
