Pottery wheel course with Marianne Krumbach: Monday 23 November 2026, 11:30–15:30, Vesterbro Bibliotek og Kulturhus, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 3200 kr.

This course is designed for beginners who have never tried wheel throwing before, or for those who need more practice with the fundamentals. Teaching starts with centering, pulling up to a cylinder, and throwing simple forms. You will also work on trimming, attaching handles, and glazing. You'll receive an introduction to different stoneware clays suitable for wheel throwing and the tools used in the process. Each session ends with thorough cleaning.

Your instructor is Marianne Krumbach, trained at the Design School in Kolding, who now works from her studio in Copenhagen NV. Her recent work has focused mainly on modeled, nature-inspired sculptural objects, but she also works periodically with thrown projects and has exhibited both in Denmark and abroad. The course takes place in the ceramic studios at Vesterbro Library and Cultural Centre. The price covers instruction and materials. Participants are expected to help with cleanup and tidying to keep the studios clean and well-maintained for all users.
