Debate: Who Owns the City? · Københavns Museum, Copenhagen

Debate on street art and urban development: Thursday 5 November 2026, 17:00–18:30, Københavns Museum, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 30–75 kr.

Who decides what Copenhagen should look like? Based on the special exhibition "Hva' har du travlt for?", Copenhagen Museum invites you to a debate about street art, photography, and urban development - and about the places that exist slightly outside planned Copenhagen. The questions include who has the right to leave their mark on the city, and what happens when unauthorized art moves from walls into the museum.

The panel features collector and gallerist Peter Brask, journalist and architecture critic Holger Dahl, and photographer Christopher Egeberg, "Flip", who has spent years photographing SPYO's traces through Copenhagen. Over time, his gaze has increasingly turned toward the city itself: abandoned industrial quarters, construction sites, outer edges, and the strange spaces between the Copenhagen that was and the one emerging. The conversation is moderated by historian Trine Halle from Copenhagen Museum.

The debate explores what we lose when unplanned places disappear, and what role street art and alternative environments play in a city becoming increasingly planned and expensive. It also touches on what it means when the museum chooses to document artistic expression created outside established institutions.

The debate takes place Thursday, November 5 at 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM in the Hall at Copenhagen Museum, Stormgade 18, 1555 Copenhagen V. Price: 75 kr. for adults, 30 kr. for under 18, and 50 kr. for annual pass holders.
