Bjarke Falgren Quintet

Bjarke Falgren Quintet live: Wednesday 27 January 2027, 20:00–22:15, B&W Live, Haslev. Tickets cost 295 kr.

Bjarke Falgren is a four-time Danish Music Award winner known for his distinctive and deeply original violin style. On his 300-year-old Gypsy violin, he plays with an expression that can shift from a smile to profound emotion within a few notes. Together with his band - some of Scandinavia's finest musicians - he unfolds his compositions across a range from lyrical and melodic to virtuosic and raw-swinging.

The music is built on jazz, seasoned with Latin American, Nordic, classical, and folk musical influences. The concert draws especially from the album Turkis, Falgren's second solo release, which explores connection and bringing people together across borders and cultures. The result is music that is both sensual and playful, yet always rooted in musical tradition and strong melody.

Reviewers have praised Falgren for his musical innovation and virtuosic violin playing - from GAFFA and Politiken to DR P8 Jazz and the American Making A Scene. He has also performed at royal events at Fredensborg and Christiansborg Palace, and the legendary Svend Asmussen has called him his successor.

This is a seated concert. Doors open at 19:00.
