India

India - lecture on democracy: Monday 26 October 2026, 19:00–21:00, Ørsted Bibliotek, Ørsted. Tickets cost 80 kr.

India is today the world's most populous country - a remarkably diverse nation that attracts growing international attention. Since 2014, Narendra Modi has attempted to reshape the democratic foundations created by Nehru and Gandhi.

This lecture examines these changes: the problematic trends as well as the countervailing forces that continue to give India the right to be called the world's largest democracy.

The lecturer is Jørgen Dige Pedersen, associate professor and cand.scient.pol.
