Perspectives on: Moving Archives seminar: 12 November – 13 November 2026, Scenen, Copenhagen. Admission is free.
How do we archive performance as a living art form, and how do we remember and commemorate experiences created through dance and performance? HAUT invites artists, curators, and colleagues to the seminar PERSPECTIVES ON: MOVING ARCHIVES on November 12-13, 2026, bringing together interdisciplinary perspectives on memory and archiving in the performing arts.
Thursday opens with a panel discussion about HAUT's own archive of the Danish performing arts field. Former HAUT staff members Naja Lee Jensen, Betina Rex, and Sophie Grodin join HAUT's artistic director Lili Blum to discuss archiving and knowledge-sharing as a core element throughout the institution's history, and reflect on methods and resources for documenting the performing arts. Afterwards, artist, researcher, and "queer witch" Vala T. Foltyn leads a more body-oriented workshop drawing on her practice at the intersection of politically engaged performance art, archiving, and memory.
Friday begins with two presentations by Nina Cramer and Storm Møller Madsen on archives, counter-archives, memory, and erasure in the performing arts. The two researchers discuss their work uncovering overlooked history and creating space for bodies traditionally excluded from archives. The conversation is moderated by Elizabeth Löwe Hunter and Phyllis Akinyi, who lead HAUT's artist care and knowledge-sharing programme. Afterwards, interdisciplinary artist, designer, and curator Abdul Dube facilitates a visual harvesting workshop, where he documents both seminar days while showing examples from previous projects and work created during the seminar. The workshop concludes with a Q&A between Abdul and participants.
The seminar ends with a Friday bar.
