We're f*cked - life is beautiful: Wednesday 14 October 2026, 13:00–13:30, Hovedbiblioteket, Aarhus. Admission is free.

Perhaps both are true at the same time. We can acknowledge the gravity of our situation - and what we may no longer be able to save - without losing our joy in life, in each other, and in what we can still create together.

We live in an era of multiple simultaneous crises: climate, biodiversity, geopolitics, economics, democracy, and our welfare society. What should we preserve, let go of, revive, and make peace with as society transforms at scale? And how do we as individuals and communities relate to an uncertain future without closing our eyes or becoming overwhelmed - while strengthening our personal and collective readiness for acute crises?

For this informal circle conversation, we introduce the Deep Adaptation method and four questions to help us explore how we meet major change. Deep Adaptation points out that readiness is not only about technology, supplies, and institutions, but also about people's ability to stand together, create meaning, care for one another, and act under uncertainty.

We sit in an informal circle and explore the questions together. You don't need to know Deep Adaptation beforehand or have fixed opinions - come with your curiosity and listen as we investigate what the questions awaken in us. Everyone is welcome.

Facilitator: Jeppe Spure Nielsen, Demokratihuset Sager der Samler.

This event is part of DR's nationwide initiative 'Together on Readiness' and is carried out in collaboration between Østifterne, DR, Dansk Folkeoplysnings Samråd, and Bibliotekernes Temasamarbejde.
