Train Travel for Beginners in Norway, Sweden and Germany
Vordingborg Bibliotek, Vordingborg · 80 kr. · ≈ 11 €
Train Travel for Beginners - lecture: Tuesday 2 February 2027, 19:00–21:00, Vordingborg Bibliotek, Vordingborg. Tickets cost 80 kr.
Nanna Hyldgaard Hansen gives a lecture on train travel as a form of holiday, where the journey itself becomes part of the experience. In Norway and Sweden, the routes cross mountains, run along lakes, fjords and through vast forests up to the Arctic Circle, and Germany also has stretches worth experiencing from the train window.
The lecture is based on her book "Train Travel for Beginners" and offers practical advice for planning your next holiday by rail: how to find the cheapest tickets, where to wait at major train stations, how Interrail works, where to get help with route planning, and tips on night trains, dining cars and train changes. A recurring theme is how to find the most beautiful routes.
Nanna Hyldgaard Hansen is an author, lecturer and journalist who has spent much of her career working with climate and sustainability. She has written four books on the subject from different angles.
The lecture is held in collaboration with FOF Sydøst.
