Bomb Disposal: The Hunt for the Next Roadside Bomb

On 29 September, Senior Sergeant Michael T. from the Engineer Regiment in Skive comes to Risskov Library with a lecture about life as a bomb disposal expert. He has spent 17 years in the Army's EOD unit (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), which works to neutralize bombs, ammunition and explosive devices - and he has himself been deployed twice to Afghanistan and Iraq and once to the Baltic region.

Michael tells the story of the EOD unit's history and the tasks it performs both at home and abroad. Central to the lecture are his personal experiences: what it means to make critical decisions under extreme pressure, and which experiences leave a lasting impression after years of some of the world's most dangerous work.

The lecture takes place in the Pavilion at Risskov Library.
