Felt Prompting: Critical Exploration of Large Language Models through the Body
University of Copenhagen Student Centre, Copenhagen · 0 kr.
Felt Prompting - Large Language Models and the Body: Thursday 29 October 2026, 15:00–18:00, University of Copenhagen Student Centre, Copenhagen. Admission is free.
IMPORTANT: The lecture at 15:00 in AUD3 is open to all. Participation in the workshop from 16:00 in room 2A50 requires a reserved ticket.
From 15:00-16:00 (CET), Claudia Núñez-Pacheco delivers the open guest lecture "Felt Sense as Design Material: The Body as a Source of Tacit Knowledge in Human-Computer Interaction" in AUD3. We understand the world through our bodies, and it is through our bodies that we articulate meaning. Starting from this premise, the lecture draws on ten years of research where bodily sensation ("felt sense") is taken seriously both as a field of inquiry and as design material - from artifacts to bodily self-reflection and body-centered methods for expressing tacit and aesthetic experience, to poetry and large language models (LLMs). Núñez-Pacheco will address methodological contributions and the tensions that arise when somatic design meets other design traditions, including AI. Her latest work bridges somatic practices and LLMs, proposing strategies grounded in body-centered understandings of time and the many forms human language can take. The approach rebuilds trust by anchoring our interactions in embodied knowledge and opens up less data-driven ways of designing for reflection.
From 16:00-18:00 (CET), a workshop with Claudia Núñez-Pacheco takes place in room 2A50, where the lecture's approach is put into practice. Through a guided somatic exercise and poetic dialogue with large language models, participants explore via different materials how bodily knowledge can inform the design of systems for bodily self-awareness - and reflect on the ethical questions such systems raise. The workshop creates space for dialogue about understanding LLMs through the body and raises the question of what it might mean to refuse LLMs. Participants who wish to use LLMs during the workshop should bring their own laptop or smartphone with access to a language model.
