OpenDays Festival: Cæcilia Quartet

Waves up North invites you to OpenDays Festival - a 3-day festival for new composition and sound art, now in its 17th edition. The festival brings together works that push the boundaries of new and experimental music.

This concert features Cæcilia Quartet: Nina Schmidt-Brewer (soprano), Maria Lundbak (oboe), Jesper Sivebæk (guitar) and Malte Vendelby (percussion).

The programme includes Niels Chr. Rasmussen's (b. 1950) "Forårsvise" (2026, world premiere) for soprano, oboe, guitar and percussion with text by Frank Jæger, and Kirstine Fogh Vindelev's (b. 1985) "I'm here, I'm listening" (2026) for soprano and oboe. Also performed is Josefine Weber Hansen's "The Art of Tatting" for soprano, oboe and percussion (2026, world premiere) in three movements - "Woman's work", "I have known and loved a solitary woman" and "Quick work for clever fingers" - with text by Carmen Sylva, H. M. Queen of Romania, adapted by Josefine Weber Hansen. The concert concludes with Erik Højsgaard's (b. 1954) "Blade og ord om efterår" (2026, world premiere) for soprano, oboe, guitar and percussion, songs to poems by Jesper Lützhøft. Programme subject to change.

Admission costs 150 kr., while a festival pass for the entire festival costs 250 kr. Students pay 75 kr. (festival pass 125 kr.), and young people under 18 as well as members have free entry. Tickets and passes are sold via Billetto and can also be purchased at the door.
