OpenDays Festival: Cæcilia Quartet
Cæcilia Quartet performs new Danish compositions at OpenDays Festival, featuring world premieres by Rasmussen, Weber Hansen and Højsgaard.
Malte Vendelby is a Danish percussionist and composer who graduated from the Southern Denmark Music Conservatory in Odense in 2023, studying under Søren Monrad and Johan Bridger. He holds a contract position with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra and is also a member of the Aarhus Chamber Orchestra. As a composer he is published by Edition Svitzer, and he founded the quartet 4Klang to perform his own works, while also serving as the percussionist in Cæcilia Kvartet, an ensemble dedicated to newly written music.
Vendelby presents a new composition for vibraphone with premiere planned for November/December 2025, inspired by Holger Drachmann's accounts of Lars Kruse.
Vendelby performs as a soloist in Kolding with a program consisting of Ravel, Nørgård, Xenakis and own compositions.
Vendelby participated as a performing musician at the Danish Composers Association's CompositionsCamp at Engelsholm Folk High School in October 2022.
