Murder in Denmark - A Forensic Pathologist's Daily Work

Asser Hedegård Thomsen works as a forensic pathologist at Aarhus University's Institute of Forensic Medicine, where he determines causes of death and documents injuries from stab wounds, blows, gunshots, strangulation, and poisoning - investigations later used by police in murder and assault cases.

In this lecture, he takes the audience through his concrete work using examples from practice. Along the way, he addresses questions such as: can you assess whether a violence victim is telling the truth? What do rigor mortis, livor mortis, and maggots reveal? And can skeletons actually testify?
