Memoriam - contemporary music and dance: 11 November – 12 November 2026, KFUK & KFUM - Festsalen, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 100 kr.
Memoriam is a sensory performance about community, memory, and the future.
What binds us together, and what remains solitary even when we are part of a community? In Memoriam, music and movement meet in a scenic universe where five musicians from Scenatet and dancer Marie Kaae enter into a shared space with its own rituals, routines, and memories. Choreographer Tim Matiakis and composer Niels Rønsholdt have created the performance together with Scenatet, weaving contemporary music, house dance, voices, and scenic imagery into a unified whole.
Colored textiles, mirrors, and soundscapes guide the audience through a time that seems to exist in both the past and the future - where memories of what has been meet with glimpses of what is yet to come. Within this universe, Memoriam explores the paradoxical solitude found in all human relationships, and the connection that can nonetheless emerge between people.
The performance received positive press coverage and was selected for CPH STAGEs international program in 2023. Critics highlighted the poetic and original scenic universe where music, dance, text, and visuality merge. After an international tour, Memoriam returns to Copenhagen - an opportunity to experience or revisit the performance for audiences interested in music, dance, and new scenic expression.
