Svøbsk Quartet

Svøbsk Quartet plays folk music that blends traditional Danish folk with their own compositions, songs and hymns in a personal expression with a strong desire to connect with the audience.

The core of the ensemble is the folk duo Maren Hallberg Larsen and Jørgen Dickmeiss, who over 20 years have refined their interplay, released six albums and, based in Funen, have performed numerous concerts at home and abroad. They have been nominated for DMA awards several times and received a DMA statuette in 2023 as the year's Roots name, and were nominated as the year's live name at Danish Music Awards Roots in 2021 and 2022.

Since 2009 they have performed together with Simon Busk and Theis Langlands in Svøbsk Quartet. The collaboration has resulted in albums including "Bjergtaget" and "Den langfingrede". The latest album, "Sorgenfri", is a jubilee album where the group returns to the starting point of the first album - two musicians united by a shared passion. The album was nominated as the year's album at DMA Roots 2023 and was named by RadioFolk as one of the year's ten best.
