Author Concert: Ensemble Storstrøm and Kim Fupz Aakeson

Ensemble Storstrøm's author concerts bring literature and music together, and this autumn Kim Fupz Aakeson takes the stage as guest. He has written over 100 books - children's books, film scripts, and several critically acclaimed novels for adults.

At the concert, he reads from his 2025 novel "The Shadow Before Me", which follows a man who has served a long prison sentence and must find his way back to reality. He chooses the Camino - the ancient pilgrimage route where one can atone for one's sins - to see if it might work for him.

Between the readings, Ensemble Storstrøm performs music connected to the book's themes. The motif of the journey echoes through Schubert's "Der Wanderer" with its slow, forward-striving pulse and Stravinsky's "The Soldier's Tale", where the violin and the devil enter into a pact.
