Helsingør's Own "Messiah"

Helsingør's Own Messiah - concert: 5 December – 8 December 2026, Helsingør domkirke - Sankt Olai kirke, Helsingør. Tickets cost 125–250 kr.

Skt. Olai Vokalensemble and Chamber Orchestra perform Handel's Messiah in the cathedral for the 12th consecutive year. Four soloists join the performance.

Messiah tells in three parts the salvation story that Christianity is built upon. The newborn child is celebrated in jubilant choruses and arias, while the strings depict the Saviour's suffering like sharp lashes. The second part concludes with the famous "Hallelujah" chorus, celebrating the triumph of good. The third part rounds out the work with the "trumpet aria" and monumental choruses.

This year's soloists are Cassandra Lemoine (soprano), Stephen Yeseta (countertenor), David Danholt (tenor), and Albin Ahl (bass).
