From Hamster Wheel to Island Hopping in the Pacific

At an age when many cling to the familiar, Kirstine and Kaare chose the opposite: they left their jobs, house, and routines behind and embarked on a two-year sailing adventure. Their destination was Pitcairn Island in the Pacific - the remote island where the mutineers from HMS Bounty sought refuge from the British Navy in 1789. After eighteen months of preparation, they departed from Skudehavnen on July 17, 2022, and completed the entire journey on their own.
Back home, family and friends followed from the sidelines - with concerns about severe weather, piracy, shipping containers, and whales, and what such a long journey would mean for their relationship.
Kirstine shares the story in a lecture based on her book "Courage to Dare - From Hamster Wheel to Island Hopping in the Pacific".
