The World at Stake: USA after the Midterm Elections with Birgitte Borup
Nakskov Bibliotek, Nakskov · 25–100 kr. · ≈ 3.3–13 €
The day after the midterm elections on November 3, 2026, the race toward the 2028 presidential election begins. Trump cannot run again, but will still play a central role - and many surprises likely await in the years ahead.
In this lecture, Birgitte Borup analyzes the situation after the midterm elections: how are Americans positioning themselves toward 2028, what is the balance of power between Democrats and Republicans, and what scenarios are emerging for the future? Borup is an international commentator for Berlingske and one of Denmark's most widely used USA commentators. She has followed Trump since his entry into American politics over a decade ago and regularly contributes to programs including "The Battle for America", "News & Co", "Deadline", and "Restart".
This is the third lecture in the "The World at Stake" series at Nakskov Library in autumn 2026, where three experts focus on global tensions. The other lectures are: Wednesday, September 9 at 7-9 p.m. ("Europe's Hour" with Lykke Friis) and Thursday, October 8 at 7-9 p.m. ("The Endless Wars in the Middle East" with Jacob Kaarsbo). The series is organized in collaboration between LollandBibliotekerne, AOF Lolland, Fora Fritid, and FOF Sydøst.
