Art Exhibition by Mia Løcke Jensen

Mia Løcke Jensen is a 25-year-old woodworker and self-taught artist. Her passion for woodcraft began when she was 18-19 years old, watching YouTube videos of artists creating wooden objects. Fascinated by the craft but struck by how expensive finished pieces were, she decided to learn the skill herself.

With prior experience making knives, working with her hands was familiar territory. A chance opportunity to buy a used lathe and some sanding equipment became her starting point. From a self-taught YouTube student, she gradually developed into the woodworker she is today.

Her very first piece was a small, somewhat "ugly" bowl - as she describes it herself. She has kept it as a reminder of where she started. In her daily work, she often uses exotic wood species such as eucalyptus burls, which create distinctive patterns and character in her pieces.

The exhibition is on display at Tranbjerg Library.
