AKELA String Quartet live: Sunday 29 November 2026, 15:30–17:00, Koncertkapellet, Roskilde.

The name AKELA means joy, and that is precisely the foundation for how the string quartet plays together. The desire to create music and share it with others shapes the quartet's interpretation of the classical quartet repertoire, which they approach with presence and curiosity.

About the venue: Koncertkapellet

Koncertkapellet opened in May 2024 in the renovated Sankt Jørgensbjerg Kapel in Roskilde. The venue is dedicated to classical and acoustic music, with the hall designed around unamplified sound so audiences can hear performers up close. It is run by Foreningen Koncertkapellet, a non-profit founded in 2016 that holds a 30-year lease from Sankt Jørgensbjerg Kirke. The programme ranges from chamber music and choral concerts to folk music and experimental stage works.
