Garnfestival Warm Up: Pattern Knitting, Brain Activity and Yarn
Brønshøj Kulturhus, Copenhagen · 125 kr. · ≈ 17 €
Designer and knitter Thea Vesterby gives a talk about what happens in the brain when you work with pattern knitting and colour knitting - and why it can create focus and mental calm.
Thea shares her own journey back after several burnouts, where knitting proved to play a central role. Today she works with designs that combine mathematics, colours and creativity, and she is particularly interested in Japanese-inspired patterns, where small elements can be combined in countless ways for personal expression.
The talk is open to both experienced knitters and beginners with an interest in crafts and creativity. It is perfectly fine to have your knitting out during the talk. Thea will also be leading the workshop "Crossing Stitches" at BRØK's yarn festival on 26 September.
