Music House Brønshøj: Torben Steno with Klitgård & Kløgholt
Brønshøj Kulturhus, Copenhagen
Forty years have passed since Torben Steno wrote his first songs - and many of them were far from masterpieces. But some of the tracks that never reached a wider audience actually deserve to be heard, and that is precisely what he is bringing back now.
With the trio Klitgård & Kløgholt behind him, Steno delivers an evening of bass, drums and plenty of electric guitar - what he himself has dubbed uric-acid rock. The sound can recall Jimi Hendrix in the company of John Mogensen and a hint of Amanda Lear. On the programme are overlooked gems alongside highlights from what Steno himself calls the paths of mediocrity, including classics such as "Why Am I Not Dead", "Three Older Women on an Empty Bottle Bar in November", "Only the Municipality Knows Your Body" and "Cheating at Solitaire".
Between the numbers he ties it all together from the barstool with the humorous interludes that have characterised the long-time media man. The event is arranged by the music association Music House Brønshøj with support from the Brønshøj-Husum Local Committee.
