Digitalization Workshop Copenhagen — Valby Kulturhus, Copenhagen

The Digitalization Workshop Copenhagen is located in the Flexroom on the 4th floor of Valby Kulturhus, where you can get help converting old films, photos and audio recordings into digital formats - so you can save them on your computer and make copies for family and friends.

The workshop has equipment for digitizing film (8 mm, Super 8, 16 mm, Super 16), video (VHS, VHS-C, Video 8, Hi8, DV and MiniDV), audio (cassette tapes and reel-to-reel tapes) and photos (slides, negatives, paper photos and glass plates).

You work with the materials yourself, but volunteer experts are on hand to guide you. Before you can use the workstations, you must complete a training session of approximately 2 hours - sign up for the waiting list via the workshop's website. The exception is the Audio Station, which does not require training and is booked directly via BookByen.

The workshop is open every Tuesday from 10:00 to 19:00, and you are welcome to drop by without registration for advice. Once training is complete, you book a workstation via BookByen (select Workshops > Digitalization) - stations are booked in three or four hour blocks at 30 kr. per booking, which covers equipment maintenance. Remember to bring a USB stick or hard drive for your recordings.
