Sound of Sewing (NL)
Gårdspladsen ved Karens Minde Kulturhus., Copenhagen
In Sound of Sewing, a courtyard transforms into a living theatre sewing room where recycling, performance art, and humour go hand in hand. Since 2003, Dutch artists Karin Arts and Mariken Biegman-van Geel have toured the world with their antique sewing machines - and all they ask the audience is to provide a pair of legs to pedal.
Children and adults are welcome to bring old clothes and take home a handmade "one-of-a-kind" souvenir. Free entry, no registration required.
The performance is part of the Children's Culture Festival Kultur For en Tudse (25-28 August 2026) and Copenhagen Street Theatre Festival (23-30 August 2026), both of which are free and open to all.
